the LADARVision System eye tracking device
One of the challenges in laser vision correction is that your eyes are never perfectly still. Although you will be asked to focus on a blinking light for the duration of your procedure, your eyes can move as much as 50 times a second without you being aware of it – or able to control it.
The LADARVision® System offers an innovative device to keep up with your eye movements, compensate for them, and direct the laser beam to the correct spot on your cornea. Some laser systems have no eye tracking devices at all, or if they do, the eye tracker may not be fast enough to compensate for your involuntary eye movements.
When you compare laser technology systems, you'll see that the LADARVision® System has a laser eye tracking device with demonstrated ability to improve the accuracy with which the laser reshapes your cornea.
Eye Tracking: For Fast & Accurate LASIK
In our CustomCornea® approach, the LADARVision® System eye tracking device follows your eye every second of the procedure. In fact, it's tracked 4,000 times per second – 15 times faster than any other eye tracking device.
What's more, the LADARVision® System eye tracking device uses what's known as closed-loop technology, which compensates for your eye movements through continuous, constant "feedback" on the location of the eye. In other words, closed-loop tracking not only tells the laser where the eye is now, it also tells the laser where the eye will be at the precise moment when the laser is applied. This technology makes a very significant, practical difference in the accuracy with which your cornea is reshaped.
Customized LASIK with the LADARVision® System uses this advanced eye tracking and corrections can be made based on your actual wavefront data as measured by the LADARWave® wavefront device. The LADARVision® System's unique ability to detect and treat higher order aberrations accurately is made possible only through the critical partnership of the eye tracking device, the wavefront map, and the advanced small-spot laser.
With the LADARVision® System eye tracking device, used in conjunction with the LADARWave® wavefront device and the LADARVision® excimer laser, you can be confident that your surgeon can apply the laser beam to precisely the right spot, and reshape your cornea with extreme accuracy.
