LADAR6000™ Excimer Laser Tour

  1. Patient Bed: As you enter the laser suite, an assistant will ask you to lie down on this bed, which allows the physician to best position and monitor the procedure.
  2. Fixation Light: In order to help you keep your eyes steady throughout the procedure, you will be asked to fixate on the red light shining from the top of the platform.
  3. Microscope: Your doctor will monitor the entire procedure through this powerful microscope.
  4. Workstation: From here, the laser technician will access information about your specific procedure. For your CustomCornea® procedure, your wavefront data is transferred to this workstation.
  5. Cabinet and VCR: Equipment and reference materials are stored in this cabinet. Your doctor may choose to videotape your procedure using the VCR housed above.
  6. Control Pad: At various times throughout the procedure, your doctor will adjust the lighting and position the bed using this automated control pad.

  1. The Patient: Before the procedure begins, you will be positioned on the bed so that you are able to fixate on the laser's lighting system.
  2. The Doctor: The doctor will be seated behind the machine in order to view the progress of the procedure through the operating microscope, as well as be able to view information on the computer monitor.
  3. The Technician: The laser technician will sit or stand in front of the workstation, where unique information about your eyes will be accessed during the procedure.
