customized LASIK
The Latest Advancement in Laser Vision Correction
In Customized LASIK, the LADARVision® System captures the unique characteristics of each of your eyes, and allows your doctor to customize your laser vision correction procedure completely. Traditional LASIK uses your glasses or contacts prescription; therefore, everyone with the same prescription receives essentially the same treatment.
Customized Laser Vision Correction: Wavefront-Guided LASIK
The wavefront device creates a "map" of your eyes that goes beyond traditional vision testing. It works by passing a narrow ray of eye-safe light through the optical system and measuring the optical distortions as the light exits the eye.
The map reflects your eye's vision problems compared to a perfect eye's wavefront map, which is perfectly flat. An eye that requires vision correction has a map that shows irregularities. The map is sent to the laser system, which aligns it exactly to match your eye. The LADARVision® System uses these actual specific attributes of your eye to guide the laser beam that reshapes your cornea.
Not all doctors are equipped to offer truly wavefront-guided LASIK. Be sure to ask your doctor about the advantages of customized LASIK.
Only Customized LASIK Treats Higher Order Aberrations
Higher order aberrations are vision problems that experts believe can contribute to low-light vision problems like halos and glare. Traditional forms of LASIK, eyeglasses, or contact lenses cannot treat higher order aberrations.
Learn about the LADARVision® System, the most advanced laser surgery system for LASIK, and how it delivers the CustomCornea® difference: The capture and mapping of the eye's wavefront, the matching of that wavefront map to the cornea, and the computerized guidance of the small-spot excimer laser using that map.
